I went grave hunting at Bukit Brown cemetery in search of the grave of my great great grandmother Chan Gin Tee. I was feeling rather confident of locating the grave as I had spent time researching online prior to embarking on the search and gotten a photograph of her grave showing a unique shape outline of her tombstone which makes it for easy identification.

Furthermore having visited my maternal grandparents graves in a similar environment, I went prepared mentally and physically and even bought my parents and kids along so that I could proudly show them the expected prize of the hunt.

The weather gods even blessed us on the morning of the search with full cloud cover with no sun as I began disturbing the peace of a least a hundred graves and spirits as I precariously make my way though the wet and overgrown forest trying my best to cover as much ground as possible in the red colored section of the map based on Peter Pak's note on the location of the grave.

In the end, it was all to no avail and I had severely underestimated the size and terrain of the cemetery. My next plan of action is to link up with someone who has knowledge of my great great grandma who can assist in my search.

As a first timer to Bukit Brown, I find the place to very serene and peaceful with trees overgrowing over the graveyards with many interesting landmarks yet to be explored.
